MANDANA (MANDIE) PATTERSON
I have a passion for design, to create and to bring natural elements into my work, using the imagery, textures and colours I find around me. Nature has an influence in some way no matter the medium I work with such as silver, stone, paint, collage or sculpture.
"A jack of all trades is a master of none, but oftentimes better than a master of one."
I have many diverse interests and as soon as I get the hang of one medium I'm looking to discover and master the next one, and then go back to my favorites with fresh ideas. I love to learn by doing, experimenting and finding my own style along the way, with clean modern lines but also getting lost in the tiny details.
Before I made the switch to the world of design, I was a Project Coordinator in Telecommunications for many years, coordinating million dollar projects with departments such as Sales, Marketing and Operations. I loved the collaboration with the teams but there wasn't much creativity.
I graduated in 2022 with honors in the Visual and Creative Arts program at Sheridan, receiving the Sheridan Award for Creative Excellence in Design. Through the program I have grown an appreciation and fondness for other mediums such as oil paints, collage work and especially graphic design. I have discovered how typography and imagery can be combined with the principles of design to create a unique and effective visual form of communication. I am continually expanding my knowledge and I look forward to a successful career in design where I can showcase my creativity and dedication to excellence.
